Harriet Miers, an underwhelming choice
President Bush has decided to nominate Harriet Miers, his lawyer, to replace Sandra Day O'Connor. Bush has described her as "a pit bull in size 6 shoes."She has never been a judge. Justice Rehnquist had not been a judge either when he was chosen.Very little is known about Miers; she has no history of judicial decisions.Initial reactions suppose that the right wing will not be pleased, because the Pres has chosen "friendship over ideology."
